Please read these Terms of Service carefully before purchasing our services or using the Redactum website. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the use of all services provided by Redactum Consulting SRL through our online store and any related engagements.

1. Introduction

These Terms apply to all purchases and use of services offered by Redactum Consulting SRL (“Company,” “we,” “us,” “our”), a limited liability company incorporated under the laws of Romania. By placing an order through our online store or otherwise engaging our services, you (“Client,” “you,” “your”) agree to be bound by these Terms and by any policies referenced herein, including our Privacy Policy.

These Terms constitute a legally binding contract and apply to both individuals (physical persons) and legal entities (business clients), and to EU and non-EU customers, unless we expressly agree otherwise in a separate written contract or signed statement hat supersedes these Terms for a specific engagement.

Our online store is powered by Shopify Inc. When you use our store, you may also be subject to Shopify’s terms and policies to the extent they apply to platform users. These Terms govern the relationship between you and Redactum for our services. In the event of a conflict regarding Redactum’s services, these Terms will apply.

2. Online Store Terms

By using our website and online store and/or placing an order, you confirm that you accept the following conditions:

  • Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to purchase our services.

  • Account security: If account creation is available, you are responsible for safeguarding access credentials and for activity under your account.

  • Right to refuse service: We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at any time for legitimate reasons, including suspected misuse, legal risk, or violation of these Terms.

  • Service modifications: We may modify, suspend, or discontinue services, pricing, availability, or descriptions. If you have already paid for a service not yet delivered, we will fulfill it or provide an appropriate remedy under applicable law.

  • Pricing errors: If an obvious pricing error occurs, we may correct it and offer you the option to reconfirm at the correct price or cancel for a refund.

3. Services Description

Redactum Consulting provides professional, research-driven digital services, which may include, without limitation:

  • Research and information support (e.g., theoretical framework, editing, formatting, literature scanning, synthesis, structuring support, and editorial feedback)

  • Writing, editing, proofreading, and document improvement for professional, business, or personal materials

  • Document formatting and preparation to specified style or brand guidelines

  • Presentation and design services (e.g., slide decks, visuals, infographics)

All services are delivered digitally and remotely. There are no physical goods shipped. Standard service packages are delivered in up to 7 business days, but larger or more complex projects/services might require more time. For those, you will be contacted via mail or phone to set a new deadline. Custom projects may be scoped separately, potentially involving a tailored quote and additional terms.

We may subcontract or delegate parts of service delivery to vetted external specialists or partner providers. We remain responsible for overall delivery and quality.

4. Use of Third-Party Tools and Platforms (Including AI)

To deliver services efficiently and at a professional standard, we may use third-party tools and platforms such as: document editors, formatting tools, collaboration and file-transfer tools, AI-assisted tools (e.g., for language enhancement, summarization, refinement, design creation, research), originality/plagiarism checking tools, grammar and quality tools, project management tools, and email/mailing systems (including providers integrated with Shopify or equivalent).

Client files and the information contained within them may be processed within such tools strictly to perform the requested services, subject to reasonable security measures and confidentiality obligations. Where third-party providers act as independent controllers for limited purposes (e.g., platform security), their processing is governed by their own terms and policies. 5. Payment Terms

By purchasing a service, you agree to the following

  • Payment processing: Payments through our online store are processed via Shopify Payments and/or integrated third-party processors. We do not store full card details.

  • Pricing and taxes: Prices are listed in EUR unless stated otherwise and include VAT where required by law. You are responsible for any applicable taxes in your jurisdiction.

  • Order confirmation: After payment, you will receive confirmation and instructions for providing any required materials.

  • Custom projects: Payment milestones (deposit, milestones, or completion) may apply as stated in the quote or separate agreement.

  • Failed payments: If payment fails, the order may be canceled.

  • Currency conversion: Conversion rates and fees are determined by Shopify and/or your bank or card issuer.

By placing an order, you expressly request us to begin providing the digital service before the expiration of the 14-day statutory withdrawal period and acknowledge that, once the service has been fully performed, the right of withdrawal is lost in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws

6. Cancellation and Refund Policy

Because our services are digital and frequently personalized, the following applies:

  • Before work begins: You may request cancellation for a refund, minus any non-recoverable payment processing fees (if applicable).

  • After work begins: If cancellation is requested after work has started, any refund (if granted) will generally be pro-rated based on work completed and costs incurred.

  • After delivery: Once deliverables have been sent, refunds are generally not available, except where required by mandatory law.

  • Scope Changes: Changes to project scope after purchase may affect timelines and pricing. Significant scope changes may require a separate order.

EU consumer right of withdrawal: If you are an EU consumer, you may have a statutory withdrawal right for certain purchases. By ordering our services, you expressly request performance to begin before the withdrawal period ends and acknowledge that, where legally applicable, the right of withdrawal may be lost once the service is fully performed. This is applied in accordance with EU consumer law for services and digital content.

7. No Returns for Digital Services

All products and services are digital. There are no physical items to return. Once a digital deliverable has been delivered, it cannot be “returned” in a traditional sense. If an issue arises, you may contact us promptly so we can assess whether a limited correction is appropriate within Section 8 below.

8. Delivery and Limited Adjustments

We deliver files electronically (typically by email or secure link) in the formats described in your order or proposal. Estimated timelines begin once we receive all required inputs from you; delays in your inputs may delay delivery.

No revisions policy: We do not provide revision rounds or iterative redrafting. However, we may, at our discretion, make minor adjustments to correct clear mistakes or align the deliverable with the originally agreed specifications, provided such adjustments do not require substantial additional work or a change of scope. Any additional work beyond minor adjustments may require a new quote and timeline.

9. Compliance, Prohibited Uses, and Client Responsibilities

By using our services you agree agree to:

  • Provide accurate information and necessary materials in a timely manner

  • Ensure you have the rights to share any materials you provide to us

  • Use deliverables lawfully and ethically and not in a way that violates third-party rights, confidentiality obligations, or applicable rules/policies that apply to you

  • Ensure you have a lawful basis to share any third-party personal data contained in materials you provide

We do not provide services where we reasonably believe the request would facilitate unlawful activity, deception, fraud, infringement of rights, or any prohibited use. We may request clarification of intended use where necessary and may refuse or cancel orders that present legal, ethical, or compliance risks.

10. Research Services & Legal Compliance

Our research support services are strictly limited to:

  • Research Paper Text Improvement & Editing: Grammar and style refinement, Academic language polishing, Structural clarity and flow improvements

  • Research Paper Document Review: Journal or institutional formatting requirement, Consistency checks, Readability and presentation quality

  • Presentations & Keynotes: Slide structure and narrative flow, Visual clarity and academic presentation standards, Conference and research presentation support

We explicitly do NOT:

  • Write, produce, or create academic work intended for submission as the client's own work

  • Complete assignments, theses, dissertations, or examination materials on behalf of clients

  • Provide services that would constitute academic fraud or misconduct

All services are designed to support, research development, and presentation quality. By purchasing academic support services, you confirm that you will not use our deliverables in violation of your institution's academic integrity policies or applicable laws.

Important Legal Notice

In accordance with Art. 259 of LEGE nr. 427/29 decembrie 2023 (Romanian Education Law), it is strictly prohibited to offer, sell, or provide work products intended to be used by clients as their own academic papers, scientific works, theses, dissertations, projects, or for the purpose of passing evaluations or examinations.

11. Confidentiality and Data Protection

We treat client materials as confidential and use them only to perform the requested services, except where disclosure is required by law or necessary to deliver the service through vetted providers. Personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement. Where you provide third-party personal data, you confirm you have a lawful basis to share it with us.

12. Intellectual Property

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Client Materials: You retain all rights to materials you provide to us

  • Deliverables: Upon full payment, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the delivered materials for personal research, study, or reference purposes only, in accordance with academic integrity policies.
    Authorship and academic responsibility for any final or submitted work remain exclusively with the client.
    No transfer of copyright or ownership is implied beyond a limited license for personal use.

  • Portfolio Use: We may reference the general nature of projects (without confidential details) for portfolio purposes unless otherwise agreed

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages

  • We are not responsible for how clients use our deliverables after receipt

  • We do not guarantee specific outcomes from the use of our services (e.g., business results)

  • We are not liable for issues arising from third-party payment processing or Shopify platform services

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of Romania. The competent courts of Romania shall have jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer protection rules require otherwise. Where applicable, EU consumers may also have rights to bring claims in their country of residence under mandatory EU rules

For EU consumers, this does not affect any mandatory consumer protection rights under EU law that may apply to you.

15. Changes to These Terms of Service

We may update these Terms at any time by posting an updated version on our website and changing the “Last updated” date. Changes apply from the time of posting, unless otherwise required by law. For services already purchased, the Terms in effect at the time of purchase generally apply, unless a change is legally required.

We encourage you to review these Terms periodically for any updates.

16. Acceptance and Contact

By purchasing our services or using our website, you confirm you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you purchase on behalf of an entity, you represent you have authority to bind that entity.
